In everything something

Well, Jen didn't seem like herself at all. I guess nobody would, after such an ordeal. She was too pale, and couldn't even carry on a regular conversation without dozing off. The doctors said it was a strange reaction, but that it was probably due to the pain meds. She had just received the transfusion hours before I arrived.

Well. Zebra of mine, begone.

I must admit I'm rather proud of myself that I am posting again, considering how busy I have been. I have tae kwon do in 15 minutes so I'll have to be fast. Alex, the eternal optimist (and psych major), thinks this blog will be a cathartic outlet for me. I'm not sure, but it's pretty fun so far.
I suppose I might as well catharsize (catharzise, catharsise?) a little. After tei kwon do I'm headed over to the hospital to visit Jen, my roommate of 3 years. She was in a bad car accident a few days ago and broke her leg and the window shattered all over her and she lost a lot of blood. She's supposed to be in the hospital for a few more days as her leg heals and the blood transfusion is monitored. Ahh, to be honest, it did feel good to write about it. I was pretty freaked when I heard she was in an accident. I'm just glad she's OK.
Drat! Time got away from me. I'm going to be late to the class.

Welcome world!

To start things off, I'm really excited to be doing this. I've never had a blog before and I thought, hey! It's time to get with the times! I am 22, currently living in Berkeley with my boyfriend and I am in my last year of school (biology major!). I have applied to several medical schools around the country and (fingers crossed) hope to be a doctor in oh, another ten years or so :( but I really think all the school will be worth it. Ever since I was a child my mom always said I had an innate need to help people. I can't think of a better way to help than by being a doctor. I guess most people want to help in some way, and I suppose all we can do is hope to make a small difference in the world for the better.
Well, I need to rush to class (Anatomy 2), but I promise I'll write a little more tonight.
